Drilling Fluid Weighting Agent
Barite is a naturally occurring, high-density mineral supplied by ARASCO Conster Action Limited as a primary weighting agent for oil & gas drilling fluids. Sourced through our trusted network across the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia, our Barite is chemically inert, insoluble, and formulated to consistently control mud weight and downhole pressure in demanding drilling environments.
Barite is a mineral composed of barium sulphate (BaSO₄), named from the Greek word "barys," meaning heavy — a reference to its exceptionally high specific gravity for a non-metallic mineral. It occurs naturally as vein fillings and concretions and serves as the principal ore of barium. In drilling operations, Barite is ground into a fine powder and added to drilling mud to increase fluid density, allowing operators to balance formation pressure, stabilize the wellbore, and safely control the well during drilling.
